128 129 might wonder why such actions are important, and the answer is simple - it is about the future of our planet and ourselves. Today, as we are faced with many challenges ranging from the climate crisis to growing social inequalities, initiatives like PILGRIM are more needed than ever. In summarising PILGRIM's activities in Poland, it must be noted that it has been a time full of challenges, but also of many successes. Today, as we gather to celebrate these achievements, we have the opportunity to look to the future with hope and to be inspired to continue our work. After all, this is the PILGRIM motto: "Living Consciously – Giving Future". Environmental initiatives in the spirit of PILGRIM at Primary School No. 4 with Integrative Branches in Radom include: PILGRIM Gardens: Creating a flower meadow and school garden with ornamental plants, which students can take care of (the garden can also include vegetables and herbs that can be used in the school kitchen). Building insect nesting boxes and placing them in the garden. Celebrating World Bee Day, with lectures for students on this occasion. Recycling Workshops: Workshops where students learn how to create new objects made from waste, such as toys from plastic bottles or decorations from paper. Organising a competition under the slogan 'Second Life of Waste.' Zero Waste Week: An initiative to promote the minimisation of generated waste, where students are encouraged to bring their own food in reusable containers to school and drink water from their own bottles. Energy Detective: A group of students become 'energy detectives' who check where energy can be saved at school, such as turning off lights in unused rooms. Students record their observations and pass them on to the project coordinator, and then to the school management. Local Eco-Trips: Trips to local parks, forests, and fields to teach children about native flora and fauna and the importance of environmental protection. Eco Corner: A designated space in the school where students can learn more about an eco-friendly, environmentally-conscious life and also exchange books or toys instead of buying new ones. Green Week: A week full of activities related to environmental protection, such as tree planting, gardening workshops, or film screenings on ecology. A “green march” through the neighbourhood streets promoting clean air and environmental awareness. PILGRIM Challenge: Challenges for students, such as collecting plastic caps, creating green projects, or organising local clean-ups. Bird Sanctuary: Building birdhouses around the school and feeders during winter to help local bird species and educate students about the importance of nature conservation. The initiatives undertaken by the Primary School No. 4 with Integrative Branches in Radom can serve as suggestions, as they highlight how education and taking action can be combined to inspire younger generations to care for our planet. The direction we have taken can bring about real, positive changes in local communities and help maintain a better condition of our planet and improve the quality of our lives. We are pleased that the idea of PILGRIM is present in many educational establishments in Radom.
