An important contribution to the debate was made by the District Governor of Pszczyna, Barbara Bandoła, who, as an educator, emphasised the importance of the topic of sustainable development in education. On 17 September 2022, the 9th PILGRIM International Education Conference was held in the Karol Miarka District School Complex No. 2, titled "Sustainability in education: examples of good practice". Dr Natalia M. Ruman, the coordinator of PILGRIM in Silesia, received a special award for her cooperation and involvement in the PILGRIM network from the Honorary President and Director of the International Education Network PILGRIM, Dr Johann Hisch. The entire initiative was part of the opening celebration of the 20th anniversary of PILGRIM worldwide. On 6 June 2023, a certification ceremony was organised in Vienna for the new PILGRIM institutions, in conjunction with the 20th anniversary celebration of the Educational Network PILGRIM. Representatives of the K. Miarka District School Complex No. 2 in Pszczyna took part in the event, and the speech by high school students from the social pedagogy classes, as well as a photo exhibition showcasing previous activities promoting sustainable development in education, were met with loud applause. We are proud that we have been able to achieve so much in the spirit of sustainability in education within the PILGRIM network.
